Lots of people are outright angry at the sad state of affairs within Microstock agencies, rightly so. For most contributors, earnings have either stayed the same or been reduced even as portfolios grow in quantity and quality. Also, agencies may make business decisions which will work against contributors’ bottom line.
Serious contributors must look for opportunities outside of microstock of which I’ve written two blog posts, Part I and Part II.
Many contributors ask me which are alternative stock agencies to submit images and my answer is that it depends on their niche. In any case, I’ve put together a comprehensive (non-exhaustive) list of Midstock agencies which make for a nice alternative to Microstock. Keep in mind that submitting to Midstock agencies is a whole different beast, which means that standards need to be higher!

If you’re crazy enough to just stick with Microstock, I’ve also put together an even more comprehensive list of Microstock agencies, click on this link.
Keep in mind that’s it’s taken me a hell of a long time to put together this list, please comment and share.
