Update on some breakthroughs this month!

Two months ago I discussed what keeps me motivated in this industry, and it all comes down to making small measurable goals and meeting them consistently. That post is available on this link.

Recap of the goals set on July 2nd, 2017

  • At least two $100+ Alamy downloads per month

Update: Since early July, I’ve had 8 downloads at Alamy. None of them have been over $100, but accumulated, they’ve been a nice sum. More importantly, I’m working hard to caption and keyword my 3000+ images on Alamy.

Today, I’ve had 3 downloads at Alamy which is a new record for a one day on there on the two following images:

mount olives2
2 RM licenses of the Mount of Olives overlooking Jerusalem
milan2
Bosco Verticale, Milan

Update: None, which is disappointing since I’m now at 500 images with them. Just need to keep going, I guess. I keep telling myself that it’s only a matter of time.

Here’s one of the latest images accepted within their collection:

liguria - Copy

Update: My first download at Robert Harding. Still early days and I’m not sure what my commission will be. Anyway, here’s the image:

Schiedam panorama8
Rotterdam, Netherlands

How did I find this image? I did a Google Reverse search and found it in an editorial here.

Update: None. Lots of (non-bot) zooms and 250 images on there so I guess it’s only a matter of time.

Update: None since I’m pending my entry in the Travel Photographer of the Year Competition, which by the way, the deadline is September 25th, so act quickly if you want to submit your entries.

Need to keep going

Two months is a short time but I’m happy with the results and will keep monitoring my progress.

I would love to hear how you’re getting on and if you set goals for yourself and if so, are you meeting them? Comment below!

Until next time.

Alex

  1. Thanks for the update! I’ve been wondering how successful your focus on Robert Harding and Arcangel has been. In this business you have to play the long game and be patient!

I’ve been trying to decide if I should pay for the premium membership on FAA. Right now I just have the free version so I can only have 25 images online. I had a paid membership a few years ago but I found it wasn’t worth it. Maybe things have changed. I see there are some good changes coming to FAA/pixels.com.

My goals and progress to date are on my blog, as you know 🙂 http://photographysidehustle.com/semi-mid-2017-progress-report/

    • Yes, playing the long game indeed…I think I’m close to moving to Nepal and becoming a monk!

As for FAA, I think it’s worth it since its it’s only $30/year so 2 sales will pay off your investment. You have some nice fine art train images.

I’ll take a look at your link.

      Good luck

      Alex
